Bel Sprinter Wins 2012 McEwen Stakes – Results

September 21st, 2012

Bel Sprinter has won the 2012 McEwen Stakes at Moonee Valley Racecourse last Saturday September 15, 2012.

The five-year-old won the 2012 McEwen Stakes by half a length ahead of Platelet, who finished second, and Snitzem, who finished in third.

Bel Sprinter has won six of his 10 race starts and has earned more than $360,000 in prize money.

Trainer Jason Warren was thrilled with the result after the 2012 McEwen Stakes was run and won by Bel Sprinter.

“He’s been right to go to the races for the past two weeks but I just held off for this race,” Warren said.

“We worked on everything, not just the barrier.”

Warren revealed that Bel Sprinter will now head towards the Group 1 Manikato Stakes at Moonee Valley Racecourse on October 26, 2012.

“We’re going to the Manikato because Moonee Valley suits him so well,” Warren said.

“In between we’ll run at Flemington, even though it’s not his track.”
